**Job Title**: Child & Family Wellness (She’ey’tun) Coordinator
**Salary**: $50,070.77 - $66,761.025 - $83,451.28

**Contract**: Fulltime, Permanent
**Hours**: 4-day work week, Mon - Thurs (36 hrs)
**Location**: Ladysmith, BC

**About The Role**

Reporting to the Social Development Manager, the She’eY’tun Coordinator plays a vital role in overseeing and coordinating child and family wellness services within the Stz’uminus First Nation community. The main goal of this role is to reduce the number of children coming into care by connecting families with essential resources, programs, and services. The Coordinator will also support and engage Cultural Caregivers for children who cannot remain in their parental home.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- **Primary Contact**:
Serve as the main point of contact between Stz’uminus First Nation and Kw’umut Lelum Child and Family Services (KL) regarding child welfare and protection services.
- **Program Oversight**:
Coordinate and implement child and family wellness programs as outlined in the Child and Family Protocol and Services Agreement.
- **Supervision**:
Supervise and lead the Children and Family Services team, including Family Advocates, Community Engagement Workers, and other related staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery and team development.
- **Resource Coordination**:
Assist families in accessing critical resources and services within the community to support their wellness and reduce the need for children to enter care.
- **Cultural Support**:
Engage with Cultural Caregivers, integrating Stz’uminus First Nation traditions and cultural practices for children who cannot stay with their families.
- **Crisis Management**:
Support the delivery of emergency services for families in the community, as directed by the supervisor.
- **Communication**:

- **Staff Support & Development**:
Provide mentorship, guidance, and training for team members to foster their professional growth and ensure they meet the community's needs.
- **Purchasing & Logistics**:
Facilitate group purchases of program supplies, manage budgets for resource materials, and ensure efficient distribution of resources within the team.
- **Reporting**:
Prepare and submit regular reports, including monthly newsletters and detailed program updates, documenting service activities, team performance, and community needs.
- **Program Reporting**:
Regularly report on the status and outcomes of programming to the Social Development Manager, ensuring alignment with the community's goals and objectives.
- **Confidentiality**:
Uphold strict confidentiality in all dealings with client files, team information, and community matters.
- **Administrative Duties**:
Manage administrative tasks related to the program, including scheduling, organizing meetings, and maintaining accurate records.
- **Other duties as assigned.**

**Qualifications**
- **Required Education**: Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or related degree, or Child & Youth Care Certification with at least 5 years of experience.
- **Required Experience**: Minimum 5 years of experience in a social work or family support role, with significant experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- **Certifications**: Emergency First Aid Level 1, Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector clearance.
- **Skills**: Strong oral and written communication, excellent organizational abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- **Driver's License**: Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle.
- **Assets**: Emergency Response Training is an asset.
