Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the baker is responsible for ensuring proper ingredients are added for each recipe and dough is mixed properly to be taken to the next stage of production.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Ensures equipment is clean before and during use.
- Sets up and adjusts mixing machines before operation.
- Operates single-function machines to mix food products at the required efficiency.
- Checks products for defects and ensures conformance to company standards; performs corrective machine adjustments as necessary.
- Records production information such as quantity, weight, size, date and type of products mixed.
- Records lot numbers used in each batch on lot control sheet and in ERP system.
- Uses FIFO method to measure ingredients.
- Follows colour-coding system to prevent cross-contamination.
- Labels ingredient containers properly with description and lot code.
- Runs production line at specified speed.
- Follows all quality and food safety procedures as defined.
- Follows WHMIS practices.
- Shows a shared commitment to the development and continuing improvement of a positive food safety and quality culture
- Trained on food allergens including 1) the sources of gluten (wheat, rye, barley, spelt, kamut and related grains), 2) the risk associated with gluten cross contamination and its impact on those with celiac disease; and 3) how to report instances of suspected contamination.
- Any other job-related duties as assigned

Skills and Experience:

- Secondary school education preferred.
- Experience as a mixer operator in food processing preferred.
- On-the-job training is provided.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts and procedures.
- Problem solving skills with independent judgment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 Ibs.
- Familiar with HACCP policies.

Working Conditions:

- Always work safely, keep work area clean and tidy, wear proper PPE, ensure product meets proper quality and food safety standard and work to GMP rules.
- Typically 8-hour day shifts with some overtime required, 5 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- A team-based atmosphere with independent responsibilities.
- Typically comfortable noise

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $18.00 per hour
