**ABOUT THE ROLE**

We are currently looking to hire a full time Scheduler for our East Trading desk. Reporting directly to the Manager, East Cash & FTR Trading you will support our East Short-Term Traders in managing our physical transactions and Generation Assets in the Eastern markets (Canada & USA) which provides a service and mitigates risk through diligent work habits and compliance. This is a full-time salaried position located at our new head office in Downtown Calgary - TransAlta Place (Keynote One).

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
- Support the East desk with power scheduling and deal management requests
- Manage Eastern Asset offers, outages and first contact 24/7 with the ISO’s and RTO’s
- Manage Energy Management Agreements (EMA’s) where we provide 24/7 support
- Deliver financials results as per annual East Short Term Trader plan
- Create growth opportunities with new customers or in markets where we trade (IESO, NYISO, PJM, MISO, ISNE and SPP)
- Work with cross functional teams (Risk, Settlement and Credit groups) to resolve all trade or financial discrepancies related to the Eastern business

**WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU**
- Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics or Computer Science
- Ability to process information and make decisions in a timely fashion
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with counterparts and customers
- Demonstrated ability to effectively make educated decisions under pressure
- This position requires the following pre-hire actions: employment reference and verification checks, criminal record checks, security checks and FERC checks
