**Role Purpose**:
The purpose of this role is to ensure that the quality system is implemented and followed by all quality department employees in accordance with the ISO 9001 quality standards for all production & customer opportunities. The focus of this role will be quality leadership for continuous process improvement, assessment capabilities of both internal and external processes, and problem solving. Great opportunity with a $50M plus company with 2 locations in Markham and one in North Tonawanda NY. Annual double-digit growth is the norm.

**Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to the maintenance of and compliance to Microart’s Quality Management System.
- First level supervision of the Quality personnel (i.e. performance review input, QC down-time maintenance, QC daily workflow, product quality resolution, etc.); Team Lead supervision (assist in scheduling, overtime, vacation, leave of absence, and data entry to Day Force).
- Review QC/QA documentation and train quality/production personnel in performing verification inspections including interpretation of the IPC workmanship standards.
- Responsibility for assisting in day-to-day quality in all products, processes, data and analysis.
- Provide performance data reports for quality (process fallout, troubleshoot data, product returns).
- Participate in quality initiatives as driven by the Quality Manager, and presentation of quality data as required.
- Identify/recommend/eliminate non-value-added activities in the manufacturing process.
- Initiate continuous improvements as it relates to cost reductions, reduced cycle time and improved product quality.
- Investigate manufacturing (or supplier) opportunities by identifying, resolving and implementing solutions.
- Contribute to specific Quality initiatives as defined by management.
- Assist in provision of Certified and/or refresher IPC-A-610 training to all pertinent staff based on scheduling.
- Periodic check of job binder documentation for correctness of information and QC adherence.
- Daily check of QC ESD compliance (wrist-straps, heel straps, grounding adherence) and excessive FOD.
- Lead a team of 20+ team members focusing on ensuring printed circuit boards are assembled to the latest IPC and J Standard requirements.
- Guide the QA team with new ideas and techniques.

**Qualifications**:

- 2-3 year technical diploma in Electronics with a minimum of 4 years work experience (electronics PCB industry preferred)
- 3 + years in a leadership role (formal or informal) (i.e. staff assessment, etc.)
- Able to demonstrate good problem-solving methodology
- A team player, the ability to work well with others
- Strong organization skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision
- Possess solid English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Hands on experience with using Excel for quality reporting (i.e. use of pivot tables)
- Must be progressive and willing to work with customers who sometimes have specific quality requirements.
- Must be familiar with ISO9001, AS9100, ISO13485 and QS quality management systems.
- Travel may be required but not frequently.
