We are hiring for a Cook at our Urban Fare location in Vancouver, BC (Shangri-La).

You will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Restaurant Manager in inventory control, quality control, scheduling, and shrink control.- Implementing, executing, and maintaining new and seasonal menu updates and changes.- Training, educating, and supervising the restaurant team according to established standard procedures.- Actively supervising team performance to develop a skilled and motivated culinary team.- Providing memorable customer service that is second to none.- Executing menu items and specials to ensure that the food meets the highest of quality standards set by the Corporate Chef.- Working in an open kitchen environment with an honest and sincere presentation to all of our shoppers and guests, answering questions and handling customers’ issues.- Planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities of several team members.- Arranging for equipment maintenance and repairs.- Preparing and cooking food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.- Other duties as required.

You have:
- Food Safe Certification and good working knowledge of W.H.M.I.S- Experience making a variety of hot and cold foods including sushi, pizza, rotisserie chicken, sandwiches, and salads.- A passion for great food and providing outstanding customer service.- A strong work ethic and “let’s get it done” attitude.- Integrity, enthusiasm, and willingness to Go the Extra Mile.- Retail customer service experience (considered an asset).

Compensation Details:
$16.75 - $18.50

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
