**GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY**

The Pipefitter is accountable to the Construction/Project Manager as well as the Site Supervisor as applicable. They are responsible for the supervision and labour services related to the safe installation and repair of petroleum facilities and equipment.

**NATURE AND SCOPE**

**SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits
- Preventative and daily maintenance of equipment to ensure mínimal down-time
- Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipe lines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods.
- Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, and threading joints.
- Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
- Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
- Complete required client safety training
- Other duties as requested or required

- Provide mentorship to less experienced team members
- Lead by example
- Assign individual tasks
- Maintaining work standards, safety practices and behavioral expectations to ensure team confidence and productivity
- Report on job progress
- Promote and encouraging a positive teamwork attitude
- May be responsible to take on the role as site supervisor based on the direction of the project manager or construction manager

**SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**
- Must be Red Seal Journeyman Pipefitter
- Additional safety or trade certificates considered an asset
- Familiar with safe work practices and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to work under mínimal supervision
- Manual Dexterity: Repeated and coordinated use of your arms, hands, wrists, and fingers to use handheld tools
- Physical Strength and stamina: Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to hold, push, pull, lift and carry heavy items
- Ability to use proper lifting techniques to lift items weighing in excess of 50 lbs.
- Ability to work with others in a team
- Ability to operate required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Technical and mechanical aptitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to use computers and software such as Microsoft Office as required
- Must be motivated, hardworking and possess initiative
- Good organization and mentoring skills
- First aid experience would be an asset

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Must be able to read drawings
- Must be able to work well with others and individually
- Be able to operate a torch and have some welding abilities
- Must be an Interprovincial Red Seal or have a Journeyman Pipefitter ticket from a
- recognized provincial training authority
- Must successfully complete drug and alcohol testing
- Must have demonstrated ability to work under mínimal supervision
- Willingness to travel locally, nationally and potentially
- internationally is considered an asset
- Must be willing to learn and open to take any safety training, or industry standard training to advance your knowledge and be successful in this position
- Must have valid drivers’ license
- Compensation based on experience with possibility to increase
