Mobile Security Guard, Turnaround

THE ROLE:
During industrial facility turnaround, maintain safe and secure environments for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. As a security guard for Backwoods you would complete patrols and protect assigned property. You would promote and enforce safety, as our guards act as a visible deterrent against irregular activity.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

- Maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by patrolling and monitoring premises
- Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment, and access points
- Access control: Permit authorized persons entry to site when required, administrative and technology responsibilities when applicable
- Working on an industrial site for a industrial site shutdown
- Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, inform violators of policy and procedures; restrain if necessary
- Control traffic by directing drivers
- Complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA’s) and Daily Occurrence Reports (DOR’s) and Incident Reports (IR’s) when required
- Inspect Backwoods vehicles, notify Field Manager when service is required
- Maintain environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls
- Arrive for your shift on time. If you know you will be unable to fulfill your duties, you must communicate with the On-Call Supervisor ahead of time
- Able to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team

WHERE YOU’LL BE WORKING:

- Industrial facility turnaround. Located in Fox Creek, Alberta.
- Camp Accommodation and meals provided
- Work for this position will be indoors or outdoors depending on the posting
- Adhere to all company office policies and safety procedures
- Adhere to all site policies and safety procedures
- Shifts are generally 12 hours per day; 7-14 shifts on; Hours of Work Averaging Agreement in place.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required
- Overtime pay per Alberta Employment Standards is available for this position

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

- 1-2 Years of Industrial Security Experience
- Alberta Security Guard License
- Following certifications required: First Aid Level C; CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015
- Site orientations completed prior to going to site
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean 3-Year Personal Driver’s Abstract
- Objectivity, emotional control, and dependability
- Able to follow complex instructions, both written and verbal
- Knowledgeable about security operations and procedures
- Knowledgeable about technology, can use different software and multi-task
- Drug and Alcohol pre-access test required by site for this position
