**A key component may be to assist individuals gaining knowledge and skills to enhance their independence and/or ability to participate in their community. The position enhances the quality of life for people. The position functions as part of a team.**

**POSITION: Regular FT Community Support Worker**

**LOCATION: Burnaby, BC**

**SALARY: Step 1-$21.63, Step 2- $22.68, Step 3 - $23.90, Step 4 - $25.19**

**HOURS: 37.5 hours/week Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:00pm**

**Knowledge & Skills**

**- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and ability to promote community integration in active settings**

***

**-***
**The ability to work effectively both as a team member and independently is essential**

**-***
**Experience and specialized training related to autism and/or challenging behaviours is an asset**

**-***
**Knowledge and ability to use alternative communication systems would be an asset**

**-***
**Knowledge of principles of Person Centered Thinking and Planning preferred**

**-***
**Working knowledge of computers/mobile apps is necessary**

***

**Qualifications for this position include, Graduation from a Community College with an appropriate diploma or certificate in Human Services OR an equivalent of education and experience. Current First Aid & CPR, TB screening, and a valid unrestricted BC Class 5 Drivers License preferred.**

**A job requirement for this position is complete and up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination.
