Community Support Worker

This position is for a Community Support Worker to provide one-on-one support with a young man that is 27 years old with Autism. The primary role of the support worker is to assist the individual with life skills and partake in social/recreational activities with him. The individual is based on community inclusion; as we love getting out and enjoying much exciting activities in our community, if you are an outgoing person and have fun exciting ideas to bring to the table, then this might be the position for you The hours will be 1 day a week (Monday) 9 am to 4 pm (Stats off) with additional 3 hrs Wednesday mornings 10:30 am to 1:30 pm and Friday’s 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

**Requirements**:

- Team player is essential.
- Must have clear English.
- Teach social skills in all environments.
- Must partake in attending swimming, biking and other athletic avenues.
- Willing to assist individual in paper route 1- 2 times a week.
- Cooking for individual and self with also teaching cooking.
- Education, experience, and a background to reflect an ability to understand behavior and teach accordingly.
- Light duty cleaning/share of chores/assisting individual in these areas.
- Ability to work independently, with mínimal supervision.

Education and skills:

- Diploma in Social Work and/or experience with adults/youth that a have a developmental disability in a community based environment.
- Good communication skills, interpersonal skills, trustworthiness, organizational skills, and a consistent team player.
- Knowledge of local community services for people with disabilities
- Knowledgeable in computer skills.
- Current First Aid certificate. (Will supply if needed)
- Require Business Class Insurance (3 million), use of a safe & reliable vehicle.
- Criminal Record Check mandatory

Wage Pending Experience.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 13 per week

**Salary**: $16.00-$21.00 per hour
