- The Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education (CCRCE) is located in beautiful Central & Northern Nova Scotia, Canada. The Centre serves approximately 20,000 children from Pre-Primary to Grade Twelve with over 70 facilities. Applications are currently being accepted for a Before and After School Program Manager.
- Reporting to the Director of Programs and Student Services, the Manager of the Before and After School Program (BAP) for CCRCE is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the management of the BAP program for the region. The Manger will have oversight for
- NS BAP Programs that are delivered by the Region
- Establishing partnerships and third-party contracts with all external providers delivering all before and after school programs on behalf of CCRCE, which includes NSBAP, regulated child care (that are currently not NSBAP programs), and other recreation-based programs that are currently being offered in the schools with respect to before and after school care.
- The Before and After School Program Manager will oversee the development and evaluation of the program and ensure quality control for the delivery of program services, consistent with Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and CCRCE policies. The Manager will work within an accountability framework to provide leadership and ensure best practices are implemented in the areas of program development, program delivery, staffing and financial management.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A university degree in Early Childhood Education, Recreational Management, Child and Youth Studies or related field, or the equivalent obtained through training and experience;
- Minimum three (3) year’s recent experience in a leadership role in the area of recreation, or child care management;
- Recent experience developing and directing early childhood/school age recreation-based programs
- Clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector search and Child Abuse Registry Clearance Letter

**Additional Assets**
- Knowledge of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development Pyramid Model, Early Learning Curriculum Framework and equity, diversity and inclusion policies is an asset
- Education and/or experience in business and human resources management best practices

**COMPETENCIES**:

- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to provide direction, support, coaching and training to large teams of staff;
- The ability to develop and implement appropriate internal controls and financial reporting principles and procedures in the financial management of revenues and expenditures;
- The ability to develop annual operating budgets and operate within these budgets;
- Strong technology skills as well as the ability to evaluate and recommend new technologies in client account management and registration systems;
- The ability to develop and maintain a positive client-service culture;
- The ability to promote the program through marketing tools, promotional materials and strong public relations strategies;
- Knowledge of general human resource best practices for recruitment, hiring, and performance management;
- The ability to effectively evaluate and manage the performance and growth planning processes for employees in the department;
- The ability to analyze procedural and/or program problems, develop, recommend, and implement solutions as appropriate;
- The ability to foster a team approach to problem solving and continual improvement;
