Toronto, Canada Mortgage Automator Full time

Data Analyst at **MORTGAGE** automator

Are you ready to be part of a game-changing force in the mortgage industry? At Mortgage Automator, we're not just pushing boundaries; we're redefining them. Our cutting-edge cloud-based loan management and conveyancing software is setting new standards, automating processes, and empowering our clients across four countries — the US, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.

Why Join Us
- **High-Impact Role**: This is a unique opportunity to take on a pivotal role at the very start of our data-driven journey. Your work will directly influence how we operate, giving you the chance to leave a lasting mark.
- **Freedom to Innovate**: You’ll be joining a company that values fresh perspectives. If you enjoy thinking creatively, proposing new ideas, and seeing them through to completion, this is the place for you.
- **Collaborative, Growth-Focused Team**: We are a tight-knit, supportive team where collaboration is key. You’ll have the opportunity to learn, share knowledge, and grow alongside people who value your contributions.
- **Competitive Compensation and Benefits**: Enjoy industry-leading wages, comprehensive health benefits, and generous vacation policies.

Job Summary:
Mortgage Automator is seeking a driven and adaptable Data Analyst to be a foundational part of our Business Intelligence and Analytics team. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this role is perfect for someone who is self-motivated, comfortable building solutions from scratch, and excited to help shape our data strategy. You’ll have the freedom to ask questions, propose ideas, and create the processes that will guide how we collect, manage, and use data to drive business growth and informed decision-making.

Essential Functions:

- **Tailor Data Insights for Stakeholders**: Collaborate with leadership and different teams to understand what data matters most to them, translating business needs into meaningful reports and insights that drive real impact.
- **Ensure Data Quality**: You’ll implement and refine data validation processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability, laying the groundwork for how we handle data for years to come.
- **Automate Workflows**: Use scripting (Python, Shell, etc.) to streamline and automate processes—making sure that once something is working well, it works efficiently every time.
- **Collaborate and Propose Solutions**: As this is a new role, you’ll be the one setting many of the processes in motion. This means being comfortable asking the right questions, proposing ideas, and collaborating with senior leadership to build systems that everyone can depend on.
- **Design Scalable Data Solutions**: You’ll take the lead in designing and building a data architecture that suits our growing business. This means optimizing how data flows across the organization and integrating our backend system with platforms like Power BI or Tableau to deliver insights in ways we’ve never done before.

Qualifications & Experience:

- **Self-Motivation & Initiative**: You’re someone who takes ownership of your work. You enjoy identifying what’s needed, asking smart questions, and taking initiative to build systems that last. You're comfortable in environments where there isn’t a playbook, and you're excited to create one.
- **Data Visualization**: Hands-on experience with tools like Power BI or Tableau to create dashboards and reports that help tell the story behind the data in a clear, actionable way.
- **Collaborative Spirit**: Your ability to communicate with non-technical teams, understand their needs, and translate that into actionable data solutions is key.
- **Problem Solver**: You’re not just a data analyst—you’re someone who thinks critically about business challenges and comes up with creative solutions. You see data as a way to improve processes, increase efficiency, and help the business grow.
- **Technical Know-How**: While you don’t need to be an expert in everything, you should have solid experience with data modeling, SQL and NoSQL databases, and building data pipelines that serve business needs. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is a plus.

Bonus Skills
- **API & Integration Experience**: Familiarity with APIs and integrating data from different sources is a strong asset. You should be comfortable exploring different tools and figuring out how to connect them effectively.
- **Predictive Analytics**: If you have experience with predictive modeling or creating customer insights (e.g., churn prediction, customer lifetime value), that’s a plus.
- **Experience with Business Systems**: Familiarity with tools like CRM, Loan Management Systems (LMS), and other operational platforms is beneficial, especially if you can help us integrate data from these systems into our analytics.

**Position Status**: Permanent

**Schedule**:Monday to Friday

**Work Environment**: Hybrid
