Technical Project Manager

As a Technical Project Manager in our manufacturing facility, you own one or more design-and-manufacture project(s) through the entire project lifecycle from kick-off through delivery. You ensure things get done by constantly communicating with your team members and a variety of departments and stakeholders within GeoSpectrum. Even though you focus on your projects, you also keep the bigger picture in mind to ensure that your team’s activities are aligned with broader company interests.

RESPONSIBILITIES*
- Own one or more project(s) through their entire project lifecycle from kickoff through delivery. You are responsible for schedule, budget, and quality management on your projects.
- Understand and communicate both technical and programmatic content with your technical team, management stakeholders, the manufacturing department, materials groups, and the quality department.
- Provide project planning direction for the 1-2 technical teams assigned to you. You succeed when your teams succeed.
- Get to know your teams and understand their areas of expertise. Communicate with Engineering management regarding staffing requirements for project teams.
- You contribute in defining technical requirements and work with the team on satisfying these requirements through design review and system tests.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate risks, issues, and changes while maintaining responsibility for their outcomes.
- Serve as the main communication point with the client (internal or external) and maintain a successful client relationship.
- Provide regular internal and client-focused project reporting.
- Divide the project into work packages and engage with the technical team to realistically scope work packages and select priority packages to be completed each sprint period.
- Work with other project and program managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within GeoSpectrum.
- Grow your understanding of our domain areas of underwater acoustics, transducers, and marine systems.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Degree or diploma in engineering or engineering technology.
- 3-5 years of engineering / technology experience and / or technical project management experience.
- Self-motivated with a drive to get things done
- Proactive communicator, both internally and client-facing
- Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Proactive problem solver
- Familiarity with project management tools and best practices is considered an asset
- Leadership experience and / or training is considered an asset
