**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Under the administrative direction of the Director, Experiential Learning, the incumbent provides extensive project management, coordination, and reporting on a wide range of work-integrated learning (WIL) projects. The incumbent is responsible for implementation and communication of special WIL initiatives, in particular the Diane Blake Student Success Initiative (DBSSI). The incumbent supports efforts to enhance the employability and success of Durham College students and graduates by increasing the number of high-quality WIL opportunities available for students and reducing barriers to student participation in WIL.
A position with considerable complexity, the Project Coordinator, WIL exercises sound judgement and planning principles to coordinate WIL projects in development and in progress. The incumbent will coordinate the effective operations of ongoing WIL projects in accordance with funder and partner requirements, review student eligibility for and process WIL-related stipends, support the hiring and onboarding process for part-time employees and student interns, and utilizes Records and Information Management (RIM) strategies and tools to create and administer a variety of project records and reports. Additionally, the incumbent provides promotion, event planning, and communications support related to WIL projects.
**Project Management**:
The Project Coordinator, WIL will support new project-based learning opportunities and will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and reporting of WIL projects:
- Involvement in project scoping activities, including consultation with project stakeholders, proposal and budget development, literature reviews in potential areas of project development, and creation of project charters and scope of work documents.
- Providing support to faculty members to develop and promote capstone and other course-based projects with community and industry partners by creating promotional materials, tracking and communicating requirements, developing resources and templates, and coordinating use of DC Project Marketplace.
- Organizing project kick-off meetings, ensuring that all project team members understand their roles and how the team is expected to function by holding regular progress meetings to review project status, timelines, budgets, and challenges.
- Onboarding part-time employees, research interns, and project participants in accordance with college procedures and funder requirements.
- Monitoring and administration of project funding in accordance with college policies and funder requirements, including coordinating purchases and preparing budget reports.
- Monitoring and reporting on project progress against established milestones utilizing sound project management principles
- Maintaining communications and high service standards with project stakeholders and funders.
- Recommending follow-on projects to support business and industry partners or community organizations.
**Implementation of WIL Special Initiatives**:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the efficient performance of all operations and service delivery related to the DBSSI:
- Coordinates student access to technology and simulation software for practice interviews and workplace scenarios, including training new users, coordinating simulation sessions, issuing licenses, tracking and reporting on usage, and maintaining simulation space and equipment
