Job Summary:
Applications are invited for the position of Customer Service Assistant II for Guelph Museums, within the Culture and Recreation Department of Public Services. The Customer Service Attendant will provide reception, customer service and sales support at Guelph Civic Museum and McCrae House.

**Hours of work**:
Up to 20 hours per week. Hours will vary. Weekend and evening availability required.

**Your role**:

- This position is responsible for reception and sales activities at the Museum. Specifically this position is responsible for:

- Opening and closing the museum admission desk and assisting with opening and closing of the museum at Guelph Civic Museum and McCrae House
- Welcoming visitors to the museum and directing them to the appropriate people and places within the museum
- Collecting admissions
- Processing membership and gift shop sales
- Answering telephone enquiries
- Monitor security cameras
- Providing exceptional customer service

**Qualifications**:

- Knowledge and experience related to the listed duties, gained through a post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field.
- Excellent communication skills
- verbal and written.
- Ability to work with technology, including software, database and point of sales systems. Experience with PastPerfect and Perfect Minds an asset.
- Enjoys interacting with the public.
- Affinity for the work of the Museum, including preservation of local history, and commitment to truth, reconciliation, and inclusion of people who have traditionally been underrepresented at the museums and in our narratives.

**Rate**:
$17.86 per hour
