Assistant Manager

**Job Summary**
**Duties**
- Assist in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company policies
- Supervise and motivate team members, providing guidance on sales techniques, customer service, and organizational procedures
- Manage merchandising activities, including product placement, pricing strategies, and inventory replenishment
- Handle POS transactions accurately, including cashiering, cash handling, and bookkeeping responsibilities
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new staff members
- Coordinate training and development initiatives to enhance team skills and performance
- Assist with purchasing decisions and vendor negotiations to optimize inventory levels and product offerings
- Monitor sales performance metrics, prepare reports, and contribute to sales management strategies
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organized store environment
- Participate in marketing activities to promote store promotions and community engagement
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience in retail management or supervisory roles within a retail environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are preferred for engaging diverse customers
- Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, bookkeeping, and basic math skills
- Experience with merchandising, pricing strategies, purchasing, and sales management
- Demonstrated ability in recruiting, interviewing, training & development, and team supervision
- Organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and store presentation
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Customer service-oriented mindset with professional phone etiquette
- Administrative experience including budgeting, marketing support, and record keeping is advantageous
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate staff and resolve conflicts amicably
