**Manager of Projects and Policy**

Burr Forest Group is currently recruiting for the position of **Manager of Projects and Policy.**

As Burr Forest Group’s **Manager of Projects and Policy**, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining existing client relationships, coordinating current and potential projects/campaigns, contacting freelancers, helping develop thoughtful and relevant strategies, and aiding in the day-to-day needs of an active and growing agricultural services agency.

You will be a part of a team with expertise in the agricultural and creative sectors, and a team with a strong and trusted reputation for accurately and positively representing Canada’s farmers and its ag and agri-food sectors.

Project management skills are a must, with a demonstrated/proven ability to manage multiple complex projects while maintaining positive, open relationships with clients. Graphic design and writing skills are also essential to this role, as is knowledge of the ag industry.

Experience in policy development/analysis and an ability to read and conduct research will be considered advantages.

**Status**: Flexible/full-time

**Location**: Burr Forest Group is headquartered in Manitoba, but the position is remote

**Reporting to**: Principal

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Supporting the team in building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Managing current and upcoming projects; creating timelines and deadlines for each; contacting relevant contractors, monitoring and documenting costs; distributing progress reports to Burr Forest Group and clients; filling in service gaps, when needed
- Managing the editorial calendars for Burr Forest Group’s publications
- Helping draft project proposals, including estimated budgets and risks and rewards analysis
- Maintaining open and consistent lines of communication with Burr Forest Group and its clients
- Participating in Burr Forest Group brainstorming sessions on the ag sector’s current needs and how BFG can address those needs, as well as taking part in strategy discussions surrounding potential clients/projects
- Staying current on policies and trends impacting the ag and agri-food sector, which will include participating in relevant industry events

**Education and Experience**:

- University or college education in a relevant field
- A portfolio showcasing creative ability, creative breadth, and project management skills is a must, as is knowledge of the ag industry

**Skills, Qualities, and Attributes**:

- Strong communications and time management skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer-service skills
- Thrive in independent work environments with little supervision and high expectations
- Ability to handle conflict and have difficult conversations without becoming angry
- Copywriting skills an asset
- Willingness to travel/attend tradeshows/help with presentations

**Salary**: $60,351.24-$121,372.22 per year
