Since 1985, Universal Rehabilitation Service Agency, URSA, has been a Calgary based non-profit agency that works to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities, brain injury and complex medical needs in community settings.

As the People Services Generalist at URSA, you will join a team of daring, caring, and sharing professionals who support our programs to ensure that we are providing exceptional services to the individuals we serve. The People Services Generalist is responsible for key Human Resource functions in the organization while supervising department personnel to ensure that all department activities are aligned with organizational goals.

As the People Services Generalist, a typical day might include:

- Provides leadership and oversight of all agency recruitment, ensuring equity and transparency with process and policy.
- Acts on business plan priorities, ensuring that activities are aligned with organizational goals.
- Responsible for facilitating monthly Agency Orientations, ensuring that the information provided to new employees to accurate and current.
- Oversees personnel leaves, including WCB claims, and creating touchpoints with staff and external stakeholders related to return to work plans and short-term modifications that may be needed.
- Connects with post-secondary institutions and support the placement of practicum students.
- Answers inquiries from staff related to their employment with URSA.
- Supports Program Coordinators and Managers to handle minor discipline and performance concerns, ensuring that there is a consistent approach as we support employees to do their best work.
- Ensures that all staff are up to date with training and that mandatory screening checks are current and in place.
- Conducts stay and exit interviews with staff, providing summaries and recommendations to the Senior team.
- Chairs the OHS Committee, ensuring that the organization is operating with the highest standards of safety and identifying any risks to the Executive team.
- Reviews relief staff requirements and connects with staff and supervisors related to relief staff engagement.
- Liaises with Payroll regarding changes to personnel including leaves and changes to compensation.
- Ensures that the department is operating according to funder and accreditation requirements, while always looking for enhancements based on best practices and efficiencies.

- Are a HR professional who has had some experience in supervising a team.
- Have a proactive nature and self-starting ability, coupled with talent to adapt interpersonal skills to build relationships internally and externally
