**The Role**:
We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team.

You will be responsible for full-cycle accounting and assisting with month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries, monthly account reconciliations, and intercompany transactions. By directly supporting the Director of Finance, you will ensure the reliability and accuracy of the company's financials by tracking and managing financial data, entering financial transactions, notifying of any accounting errors, and organizing financial reports.

As the Accounting Specialist at Branch, you will be responsible for creating dynamic working files to support the compilation of consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. This is an exciting role for a person who wants to help build and enhance the growth of a data-driven omnichannel e-commerce company.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the day-to-day general accounting activities and handling the general ledger bookkeeping of US and Canadian entities
- Completion of bank, credit card and other account reconciliations
- Charging expenses to accounts by analyzing invoices and expense reports
- Summarizing payroll transactions prior to posting
- Ensuring employees are reimbursed for company expenses in accordance with policies
- Making journal entries for all recurring and accrual type of transactions
- Perform month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries, monthly account reconciliations, and intercompany transactions
- Prepare month-end working papers and supporting schedules
- Assist in the preparation of month-end financial statements and the management discussion and analysis
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, including automation and internal controls implementation to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting
- Review, investigate and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents and reports
- Support in the coordination of external auditor requests
- Work effectively and strategically with cross-functional teams to ensure all direction, alternatives and decisions have been thoroughly reviewed from a financial perspective.
- Facilitate and coordinate multiple reporting deadlines and respond quickly to ad-hoc requests

**What We’re Looking for**:

- Accounting diploma or University degree
- CPB (Certified Professional Bookkeeper) certification would be an asset
- 4+ years professional working experience in accounting or finance functions
- Deep understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency with Quickbooks accounting software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and/or Google Sheets
- Extreme sense of organization, with the ability to timely meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to assimilate information from multiple sources and drive decisions in the face of ambiguity
- Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters
- Ability to build and maintain relationships cross-functionally
- Possess strong interpersonal, negotiation, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in an E-commerce/Furniture/Consumer Goods is an asset
