**Our Team**:
Our corporate office, located in downtown Toronto serves as the headquarters for the global Base Metals business, providing support to all our Base Metals operations. In Mississauga, Vale's Base Metals Technology Development team work to improve Vale's competitive edge and support its growth strategies by coming up with safer and more environmentally responsible technology.

**The Opportunity**:
We are currently seeking a Procurement Supervisor to join our Procurement Team in Toronto. This is a **permanent** position.

The Procurement Supervisor will execute Vale's procurement for the operations, through the complete understanding of the sourcing process, aligned with the standards and controls of the Vale Procurement team, ensures the accomplishment of the area financial goals and company growth objectives in the region.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Execute Procurement Sourcing in North America for group of categories.
- Work closely with the Vale's Global, Regional and Local Procurement team(s)
- Responsible for managing the successful execution of the procurement sourcing plan for commodities and services outlined in area of accountability.
- Manage key suppliers in the region and develop the business relationship for specific commodities.
- Facilitate the interfacing of Procurement Analysts with local users, consolidating and understanding their needs and demands.
- Support the Global/Regional/Local Procurement Manager in providing precise demand specifications and negotiating the regional/local clauses of Global purchasing as required to support team.
- Supervise the purchase of Global, Regional and Local categories as assigned to team.
- Suggest annual cost saving programs and assist in the implementation of business strategies that directly affect the Company's financial results and growth plans.
- Maintain and provide understanding of North American's industry best practices and technology trends to the Procurement teams.
- Recruit and develop a high performing and motivated procurement team.
- Provide periodic reports to the Procurement Manager about project status.
- Supervise or track Procurement bid processes
- Lead multifunctional teams in order to ensure users demands are met in terms of quality, budgeting and timing.
- Lead multifunctional teams in order to improve strategic demands specifications, test new products and solutions and monitoring products performance.
- Define and validate procurement strategy recommended by procurement analysts
- Seek input, user feedback to the procurement process, allowing continuous learning and improvement.
- Ensure procurement process compliance to company's norms as well as the required internal and external auditing criteria.
- Represent Vale at external meetings with national associations, federations, industry organization, public and private entities.
- Ensure quality, delivery and budget objectives are met.

**About You**
- Undergraduate degree is required
- Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP) - an asset

**Experience**

**Skills**
- Proven analytical skills.
- Strong writing and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to interact at all levels of the organization including with senior management.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of financial systems such as SAP
- Knowledge & experience of Quality Management systems like ISO-9001
