**The Position**:
We are looking for a full-time Payroll Specialist who will perform a variety of functions relating to the effective administration of payroll at Hull Services. This position is based on a 37.5 hour work week, Monday to Friday with a scheduled lunch break.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Code Salaried and Relief timesheets and post entries into the payroll system.
- Process ad-hoc payroll entries as needed (e.g., tickets, passes, etc.).
- Set up and ensure accurate deductions.
- Calculate staff timesheets, record vacation and sick time taken, and distribute monthly reports to supervisors.
- File payroll documents and maintain employee records.
- Process and distribute payroll attendance reports.
- Support with managing Garnishments.
- Issue Records of employment.
- Assist with processing semi-monthly pay accurately and on time, including updating and uploading payroll data import files.
- Participate in reading payroll batches to ensure accuracy.
- Work with People and Culture to ensure accurate and timely processing of new hires, employee departures and other employee status changes.
- Perform other payroll/benefits related tasks as required.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field would be an asset.
- Some exposure to payroll and payroll software is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent people skills and communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and willingness to perform a variety of support tasks.
- Clear Police Check and Child Intervention Record Check.
