We make the world better, and you can too. **Patent Agent**: **Job location**: Ottawa, Canada (Hybrid)**: **About the Role** The Patent Agent, as a seasoned professional with extensive experience, conducts work that contributes to the growth and protection of Kinaxis' intellectual property portfolio. An exceptional collaborator and partner to the organization, the Patent Agent will provide strategic and practical guidance to stakeholders as it relates to our patent portfolio, and will develop internal IP best practices that are aligned to our strategic corporate objectives. **Key Responsibilities** - Share IP portfolio reports and updates on a regular basis to the Patent Council - Contribute to the definition, development and execution of internal IP best practices; develop and facilitate training to stakeholders and ensure process is understood and followed - Lead and contribute to the development and facilitation of IP awareness training for business units across Kinaxis, including the Product organization - Participate in mining and hackathon sessions - Partner with inventors to draft, file, and prosecute patent filings - Contribute to Kinaxis' IP portfolio creation and development; partner with stakeholders within the Legal team to build and execute on overall IP strategy - Develop and contribute to work products required for due diligence or patent litigation. - Work with outside counsel in the management of Kinaxis' patent portfolio. ***What you will have**: - **Patent Agent registered to practice before the CIPO and/or the USPTO.**: - Willing to learn and use RowanTel® drafting, prosecution and invention hub tools - Willing to learn and use other patent analytical tools. - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment - **An eagerness to roll up your sleeves and build something from the ground up**: - Strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving abilities - Strong attention to detail - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - Strong relationship-building and influencing skills and the ability to prioritize business requirements appropriately through a collaborative partnership approach **What we have to offer**: - **Challenging Work - **We love solving highly complex problems.
