**What You’ll Be Doing**:

- Monitors and reports on environmental health and safety matters (eg. injuries, KPI’s and objectives).
- Identifies causes and trends of environmental health and safety issues (eg. injuries, spills, etc.)
- Formulates policies and procedures in compliance with local and provincial Environmental Health and Safety laws and regulations (best practices).
- Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, shops, fire prevention, emergency action plans and environmental health and safety programs.
- Inspects facilities to identify and communicate existing or potential environmental health and safety hazards, and recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Participates in the investigation of serious injuries and assists in the preparation of material and evidence for use in legal matters and other investigations.
- Oversees the administration of Workplace Safety and Insurance Board program, including the return to work program and working with the health care provider to minimize lost time accidents.
- Develop and conduct or coordinate training programs or communications that increase environmental health and safety awareness and compliance.
- Prepares and arranges safety exhibits and materials for display and promotional work.
- Represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.
- Maintains safety files and records.
- Supports and maintains environmental health and safety committee
- Work in compliance with JE's Quality and EHS Policies and Procedures, including IATF 16949 / ISO 14001.
- All other duties as assigned

**What We’re Looking For**:

- University Degree (engineering or related science field) or equivalent, the designation CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) and/or CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) are preferred.
- One to three years Health, Safety and/or Environmental experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated ability to lead initiatives through to implementation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Previous experience in an ISO 14001 and 45001 environment, IATF, WSIB, STD plans and ergonomics.
- Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization;
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
