The Marketing Copywriter position has been created to support the needs of a growing Marketing Department. The talented individual for this role will have an eye for detail and critical thinking skills for content creation, curation, planning, and research. This role will allow you to have a diverse work experience, grow professionally while working in a fun, stimulating, and supportive environment.
**The Role**
As the Marketing Copywriter, you will report directly to the Marketing Manager. You will work closely with the marketing team to brainstorm idea, develop strategy, receive directives, and plan timelines. You will work collaboratively with managers across departments to ensure that all communications meet their departmental goals and needs.
This role has been designed for someone who is passionate about bringing ideas to life from concept to articulation and has demonstrated the ability to create both compelling written and visual content. The success of this position will be derived by your ability to maintain a strong grasp of the customer journey while creating content across all touch points to increase engagement, create leads, and support our sales cycles.
**Responsibilities for this role include**:
- Write and copyedit content for websites, brochures, travel guides, social media, ad campaigns, short video scripts, B2B and B2C communication
- Adhere and maintain content governance guidelines for tone, style, and voice for all company content, and ensure they are followed
- Ideate, develop, and implement creative marketing and communication strategies for target audiences, ensuring content is consistent across all delivery platforms
- Research topics, plan, manage, and write blog content, and work with external domain experts on the new content creation
- Interview industry stakeholders, professionals, travel partners, and the expedition team members to create compelling travel stories that promote Adventure Canada’s people, brand, and the industry as a whole
- Collaborate with teams including marketing, sales, business development, operations, client services, and contribute with your expertise during team meetings
- Website SEO optimization, periodic content audit, success analysis, and monitoring
**Skills & Experience Required**
- Excellent copy writing and copy-editing skills
- 2+ year of experience in content planning, creation, and writing
- University or college degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Professional level English grammar skills
- Previous experience creating omni-channel and multi-media digital content is a definite benefit
- Knowledge of SEO/SEM and Marketing Analytics
- Knowledge of Google Search Console, SEMrush, CMS like WordPress, or similar tools will be considered as an asset
- Knowledge and understanding of basic User Interaction principles and how people read on the screen will be considered as an asset
- Thorough knowledge B2C/B2B marketing strategies, automation, and conversion rate optimization will be also considered as an asset
- A love for travel and familiarity with Adventure Canada’s expedition destinations is desirable
- Creative, diplomatic, and calm under pressure, with fantastic interpersonal skills
- Ability to think critically, grasp complex concepts, and articulate them in a simple, engaging way
- Highly engaged team member focused on collaboration
- Available to support business and social events on occasional evenings and weekends in the Greater Toronto Area is preferred
- Personal commitments towards lifelong education and implementing the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s calls to action are strong assets
- Stress Tolerant
- Comfortable in a small office/family business environment; positive and adaptable to a variety of duties
