Accounts Receivable Clerk

Under the direction of the Finance Administrator the Accounts Receivable Clerk requires a working knowledge and understanding of the ACCPAC accounting software and bookkeeping experience. The incumbent must have sound communication skills, efficient work ethics and accurate work performance and reports.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Process accounts receivable for government programs
- Invoice the appropriate department/organization and maintain each A/R file in Sage300.
- Prepare and issue cash receipts as revenue is received and code each transaction.
- Receipt Journal - all receipts are to be entered upon receiving cheque or cash.
- Ensure all accounts receivable filing is up to date.
- Ensure any data is accurately entered and to the correct account.
- Input data related to accounts receivable customers.
- Prepares cheque requisitions as authorized by the Finance Administrator.
- Handles telephone inquiries for accounts receivable and travel related information.
- Proactively maintains customer relationships to ensure positive long-term relations.
- Banking - Complete bank deposits when revenue is received.
- Invoices and contact individuals if payments are not received or for collection arrangements.
- Assist the auditors in the pre-audit and annual audit of applicable LPFN program books.
- Complete duties of other finance staff while they are on leave.
- Report directly to the Finance Administrator and may receive direction from Program Managers on program specific tasks related to accounts receivable and travel.
- Perform other administrative duties related to finance as assigned or requested by Finance & Tribal Administrator or Chief and Council.
- Other duties as assigned and/or outlined in the job description.
**Qualifications**
- Degree or diploma in a relevant field such as accounting, finance, or business.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum two (2) years’ bookkeeping experience required.
- Experience preparing financial, statistical and narrative reports.
- Able to interpret various funding terms, conditions and/or policies.
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and build effective relationships.
- Sounds judgement, analytical and decision-making skills.
- Must have proven ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Working knowledge of ACCPAC accounting system.
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions and fluent in a First Nations language would be an asset.
- Ability to function effectively as a team member.
- Work flexible hours.
**Conditions of Employment**
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
**Salary**: $42,000.00-$65,665.00 per year
