**POSITION SCOPE**:
The Materials Planner is responsible for the timely replenishment of raw materials and packaging to support the execution of the production schedule facilitating a minimum fill rate of 98.5% while managing warehouse space constraints and inventory turns.
**RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES**:
- Works closely with the Senior Buyer to ensure optimal replenishment of componentry to support forecast and production schedule fulfilment.
- Analyzes MRP demand and enter requisitions accordingly for approval.
- Generates Purchase Orders and ensure adequate follow up, expediting or delaying of order as required to support the production schedule.
- Works with Senior Buyer to ensure Purchase Order pricing is accurate.
- Words with Senior Buyer, IQC and Suppliers to address NCR’s in a timely manner.
- Maintain ETA accuracy in Syspro and on Material Shortage Report.
- Clearing backordered PO’s as required.
- Mitigate or minimize excess and obsolescence through effective inventory management.
- Ensure proper receiving of materials with regards to quantity and price and resolve any invoice discrepancies.
- Manage ETA of ocean and cross border shipments and enter freight PO’s as required for payment.
- Engages in daily and weekly team meetings to communicate on material status to mitigate risks to production.
- Coordinates with suppliers, internal departments and support staff to achieve team and Company goals and timelines.
- Achieves established goals as outlined by Senior Buyer and/or department leader.
- In coordination with R&D and Regulatory departments, ensures compliance with existing and prospective vendors.
- Act as a backfill for other members on the team.
- Other duties/projects as assigned.
**JOB SPECIFICATIONS**:
**KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**: 3+ years’ experience required; experience in liquid fill componentry preferred; experience in pharmaceutical industry and asset; University degree in related field required; Specialized Training or regulatory licenses an asset; SCMP designation an asset; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel; familiarity with online sourcing tools
