Medix College is seeking an Program Coordinator to. In this dynamic role, you will have an immediate impact on people and embody our Core Values daily by providing day-to-day support to our students, graduates and staff.
**Position Summary**:
The Program Coordinator for the Medix College Living Classroom Personal Support Worker program offered in partnership with Extendicare Timmins and Extendicare Kirkland Lake is responsible for modeling the behavior that will allow each student enrolling in the program to fulfill their academic potential through mentoring, planning, organizing, and implementing a structured, engaging, and experiential approach to learning, while following a well-established online/hybrid curriculum in line with Medix College core values. In addition to being the lead instructor for the program the Program Coordinator will serve as the operational liaison with Living Classroom locations at Extendicare Kirkland Lake and Extendicare Timmins for scheduling of online live and in-person classes/lab sessions, in-person experiential learning activities at the respective locations, be responsible for overseeing externship placements and liaise with staff and placement supervisors at both locations to ensure all Medix College externship requirements have been satisfactorily met, and coordinate and participate in local/regional promotional and recruitment events and activities. The position will require frequent travel between Timmins and Kirkland Lake, as well as other surrounding communities as needed. Must be a Registered Nurse with no practice restrictions, registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
**Essential Functions**
- Deliver the curriculum through online live, asynchronous online instruction utilizing the college’s learning management software and video conferencing platform as well as in person classroom and lab instruction at the Extendicare Timmins and Kirkland Lake locations per the established program delivery model. The instructor will rotate every other week in providing in-person instruction one evening at the Timmins and Kirkland Lake locations, while students at the other locations join the class virtually.
- Use the college’s student information system software in fulfilling responsibilities of the position as required.
- Provide student support including grading and providing student feedback, facilitating discussion boards and other administrative duties.
- Record and submit grades to the appropriate personnel/software in a timely manner.
- Be available for student support outside of scheduled class times.
- Coordinate and participate in new student orientations as required for students.
- Attend all required Medix College faculty/staff meetings and graduation ceremonies.
- Stay current on industry trends and maintain certification or licensure in the related field.
- Exhibit professional and model behavior while at the Living Classroom locations or representing the college in the community.
- Treat all staff and students equally with dignity and respect, free from bias or discrimination.
- Create and maintain an organized work environment.
- Manage conflict between students through behavioral observation and early intervention.
- Keep students and members of the Medix College and Extendicare Timmins and Kirkland Lake teams up to date regarding important information regarding the program.
- Maintain communication with all departments.
- Work with students that may require accommodations.
- Continue professional development within the industry/professional field you are instructing.

**Position Requirements**:
Must be a Registered Nurse with no practice restrictions, registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Instructors also meet instructor qualification standards as per the Private Career Colleges Act.
48 months of work or teaching experience in the vocation, acquired within the preceding 10 years, or a combination of the two.

- Hold a bachelor’s degree from a Canadian university or an equivalent degree
- A graduate of a College of Applied Arts and Technology or equivalent
- A graduate of a registered PCC or equivalent
- Hold a Certificate of Qualification under the Ontario College of Trad
