Measurement Sciences Inc. (MSI) is a premier geomatics firm based in Calgary, specializing in high-end technology to deliver unrivaled data solutions. From geotechnical geohazard inspections and river erosion mapping to complex construction monitoring, our LiDAR group is at the forefront of the industry.
As we diversify into new sectors and continue to service the largest oil and gas and power generation companies, we are looking for a LiDAR Specialist to join our team. This role is critical as we scale our operations and continue to provide industry-leading geomatics data to our growing client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Mission Execution:Help plan, organize, and execute sophisticated LiDAR collection missions.
- Data Processing: Filter, classify, and perform manual data classification to ensure high-precision deliverables.
- Feature Extraction: Use AutoCAD and/or MicroStation to extract planimetric data from point clouds.
- Imagery Integration: Process aerial imagery to accompany and enhance LiDAR datasets.
- Innovation: Contribute to workflow improvements and regularly research emerging remote sensing and GIS/GPS technologies.
- Project Leadership: Manage project timelines and collaborate effectively within our specialized remote sensing group. Essential Qualifications
- Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Remote Sensing, Geomatics Engineering, or GIS or extensive experience.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in LiDAR and trajectory processing software.
- Technical Literacy: Thorough working knowledge of computer database systems and data security requirements. We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative thinker who thrives in a team environment. Given the shrinking specialized labor workforce, we value individuals who are:
