In this role, working on a team within the environmental and regulatory area, you will support various areas of the business at Suncor’s Base Plant operations.
Minimum requirements- 5yrs’ experience and knowledge of oil sands and industrial operations- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science, or an Environmental Technology diploma with a combination of related experience- Exceptional communication, collaboration and conflict resolution skills that enable you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups and influence their decisions- Strong organization skills with the ability to self-prioritize and anticipate potential problems checking for out-of-the-ordinary conditions- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide regulatory leadership for incidents, including writing clear follow-up letters, forms, and reports to regulators, as required by legislation, and tracking environmental incidents- Work with internal teams on environmental projects, including assistance with coordination of environmental contractors and consultants who conduct surveys and gather data at the site- Conduct internal and external inspections to improve environmental compliance, including coordinating inspections and site visits by regulators at the site- Share knowledge with operational staff on regulatory compliance and the continuing importance of environmental protection in a cost constrained production setting- Record, file, interpret and disseminate regulatory correspondence and prepare stewardship
Location & other key details- You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta- The shift schedule is Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week- This is not a camp-based role
