Overview
The Produce Clerk is responsible for carrying out the full range of duties of the position in a professional, responsible, accurate and timely fashion. The Clerk will deliver exceptional customer service, foster customer loyalty, fulfill customer needs and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Opens and/or closes the store (keyholder) on a regular basis ensuring all employee concerns are handled, store conditions standards are met and customer inquiries are addressed.
Training and coaching, providing feedback and direction to employees on a consistent basis to ensure store conditions standards are met.
Responsible for inventory counts and product inventory levels as required by completing and submitting order forms, POM’s, Allocation Tables, Telxon, RF gun (manual adjustments), CAO, DSD, Secondary Suppliers and Bunzle.
Maintains the appearance and condition of the department by ensuring aisles, bunkers, coolers and the backroom is clean and the product is stocked and faced.
Receives warehouse orders by checking order, unloading product from trucks, completing documentation and temperature checks when applicable, and storing product.
Completes some administrative tasks including EDS (invoices), payroll functions and file maintenance tasks.
Provides customer service by greeting customers, and responding to their inquiries.
Maintains Health and Safety and Food Safety compliance by dealing with expired product.
Performs other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**:
Good customer service skills with the ability to successfully resolve customer complaints
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees and providing leadership as needed
- Strong interpersonal skills including attention to detail, time management and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment
- Good computer skills including use of Microsoft Office
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job
- Grade 10 or an equivalent or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of FreshCo policies and procedures is recommended
- Previous retail experience is an asset
