**We are looking for one (1), contract, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Housing Coordinator join our team**

**The Meaningful Work You'll Do**:
As a Housing Coordinator, you will create, enhance and maintain programs that support new immigrants and refugees and their transition into life in Canada. You will be joining a compassionate team dedicated to welcoming and serving newcomer individuals and families. Your abilities to take initiative and multitask will be assets in this role.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Coordinating multiple activities of the Alberta’s Ukrainian project with the focus on the housing initiative:

- Securing long-term/permanent housing for Ukrainian evacuees:

- Researching and identifying free and/or affordable long-term (6 mos or more) housing options (e.g., through liaising with local property management companies and private landlords)
- Reviewing and vetting permanent housing options for appropriateness and security
- Creating and maintaining a database of free and affordable permanent housing resources in Alberta
- Liaising with settlement sector agencies to create a centralized referral system for permanent housing options to be used by all settlement service providers when assisting Ukrainian evacuees to secure long-term/permanent housing options
- Conducting research to identify other needs, trends, challenges, and potential gaps in services for Ukrainians.
- Working closely with key stakeholders (i.e., all levels of governments, the Ukrainian community, settlement and mainstream service providers, other community and grassroots organizations) to address the identified needs and gaps
- Maintaining the existing and establishing new partnerships and collaborations
- Participating in the community meetings and events
- Engaging in advocacy and lobbying activities if needed
- Performing some administrative duties (i.e., keeping accurate records and statistics related to the project’s activities)
- Participating in data analysis, report writing, and evaluation
- Engaging in outreach and promotional activities
- Promptly responding to inquiries from Ukrainian clients, community, staff, volunteers, and the general public
- Performing other related duties as required (e.g., taking meeting minutes)

**Formal Education and Experience**
- Related Degree/Diploma in Education, Human Services or equivalent
- 2 years of experience working with newcomers to Canada

**Other Assets**:

- Experience building effective partnerships and collaborations
- Experience in doing research, working with data, and writing reports
- Knowledge of Ukrainian/Russian
