**WHO WE ARE**:
Shaw Steel Services Ltd. is a family own and operated business. We supply our clients with fabricated and install contracts for concrete reinforcement needs. Our goal is to supply a quality product to our clients while pushing the envelope to accommodate schedules. Our team and company structure allows each position within to get a feel for there importance and how appreciated their efforts are for the operation.
We are currently looking for a rebar fabricator to join our team. Looking for an energetic, hard-working individual who can rise to the physical and mental challenges of heavy lifting. Someone who works well with others, can take direction and work at a consistent productive pace. A healthy attitude towards safety and an ability to adopt the safety program and become a positive figure in the continual growth of such a culture.
**ROLE**:
Bending, cutting, bundling, loading and unloading reinforcing from trucks. This is an entry level position so you will receive instruction and training on all pieces of equipment and machinery. Experience is not necessary as we will provide training, but self drive is a requirement.
Daily Tasks:
Operating shear line to cut stock to required lengths.
Operating bending equipment to bend bar to specific shapes.
Operate overhead crane to move and load material around, load and unload trucks.
Maintain shop housekeeping standards.
Assist other teammates in the fabrication process.
Actively following all safety protocols and participating in all aspect of safety program.
Inspect equipment and participate in equipment maintenance program.
Experience or Abilities Required:
Able to start work at 5:30am each day.
Proper lifting techniques. Physical ability to preform all tasks required in a productive manner.
Can read a measuring tape and have grasp on metric and imperial measurements.
Basic math skills.
Ability to work overtime. We attempt to make all OT available during 5-day work week, so your work rarely runs in to the weekend.
Ability to understand and participate in our safety program.
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
