Nuvella Haven Homecare Staffing Canada is seeking a passionate and relationship-driven Employment Specialist / Job Developer to support post-secondary students with developmental disabilities in achieving meaningful employment outcomes connected to their education and career goals. Key Responsibilities
Employment Planning & Career Development
- Conduct individualized vocational and career planning sessions
- Support students in identifying strengths, interests, and employment goals
- Assist students in exploring career pathways related to their academic programs
- Develop individualized employment action plans Employer Engagement & Job Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Alberta employers
- Identify inclusive employment opportunities
- Develop work placements, internships, and practicums
- Educate employers on workplace inclusion and accommodations
- Promote disability-inclusive hiring practices Employment Readiness Support
- Assist students with:
- resumes
- cover letters
- interview preparation
- workplace communication
- professional behavior
- Support workplace readiness and confidence-building Job Coaching & Retention
- Provide on-site job coaching when required
- Assist with workplace accommodations
- Monitor employment progress and retention outcomes
- Address workplace challenges proactively
- Support long-term employment success Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate case notes and documentation
- Track employment outcomes and KPIs
- Prepare reports for internal and funder requirements
- Participate in team meetings and service planning discussions REQUIRED Diploma or degree in: Career Development, Employment Counselling, Vocational Rehabilitation, Human Services, Psychology, Social Work Minimum 3 years experience in:
- employment services
- job development
- job coaching
- vocational rehabilitation
- career development
- Minimum 3 years experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
- Demonstrated success building employer partnerships
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Clear Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year Work
