Project Manager, Structural Steel

**THE OPPORTUNITY**:
PTW is seeking a **Project Manager** to join the Structural Steel fabrication division. The Project Manager will act as the main point of contact for the client and manage the fabrication of structural steel and building envelope component, in addition to other fabrication projects.

**A DAY IN THE LIFE**
- Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external customers to ensure efficient coordination of job execution and the ability to generate future work.
- Receives project hand-over information from estimating, compiles and maintains detailed records of all dates, drawings, documents and correspondence (both written and verbal) related to projects.
- Leads project team, identifies critical path items, and manages around the long lead material procurement. Oversees project kick-off and progress meetings.
- Works with client representatives through all stages of the project including engineering, drafting, construction, and contracts.
- Evaluates, selects, commissions, and manages suppliers and subcontractors.
- Establishes project communication plan and conducts regular status reviews with the project team, internal and external clients, sub-contractors, and vendors.
- Manages project Change Management; identifies changes to scope, impact to cost and schedule, and obtains customer approval.
- Ensures projects are completed on time, on budget, and according to customer expectations.

**EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- Minimum 5 years’ project management experience.
- Working knowledge of project management principles. PMP designation is considered an asset.
- Engineering Technology Diploma or related technical diploma is considered an asset. A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
- Strong ability to identify priorities and critical path activities
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to express ideas clearly and enthusiastically.
- Superior customer service skills with the ability to deliver results according to client specifications.
- Able to work effectively with team members and yet be independent and self-reliant when completing tasks.
- Effective organizational skills and the ability to thrive well in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Self-motivated and demonstrate leadership skills.
- Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project)
- Previous experience in the metal building and steel fabrication environment is considered an asset
- Oil and gas industry experience preferred.

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- Must have own transportation as location is not accessible with public transportation.
