**Job Overview**

Pacific Yacht Systems Inc. (PYS) is a Vancouver-based **marine electrical and electronics company** providing professional services to recreational vessels throughout the Lower Mainland and coastal British Columbia.

We are currently hiring a **full-time Marine Electrical Technician**. This role is well-suited for:

- **Marine electricians**:

- **Red Seal electricians** transitioning into marine work
- **Electrical Technical Officers (ETOs)** from the merchant marine seeking a **permanent shoreside position**

This is a hands-on, technical role focused on troubleshooting, installation, and system upgrades — not repetitive production work.

**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Install, troubleshoot, and service **marine AC and DC electrical systems**:

- Work with **battery banks (including lithium)**, chargers, alternators, and inverters
- Diagnose and repair electrical distribution, grounding, and fault issues
- Install and service **marine electronics** (navigation, communication, entertainment)
- Integrate **solar and charging systems**:

- Perform system upgrades designed for safety, reliability, and performance
- Work independently at marinas across the city using a **fully stocked PYS service van**

**A Note for Electrical Technical Officers (ETOs)**

If you are an **ETO from the merchant marine**, this position is a strong fit:

- Your experience with complex shipboard electrical systems translates directly
- Your troubleshooting, safety, and documentation skills are highly valued
- This is a **shoreside role** — no sailings, rotations, or time away at sea

Several of our most successful technicians have come from ETO backgrounds.

**Who We’re Looking For**

We value **strong electrical fundamentals, good judgment, and pride in workmanship**.

You may be:

- An experienced **marine electrical technician**:

- A **Red Seal electrician** with solid diagnostic experience
- An **ETO** looking for a long-term shoreside electrical role

**Required Skills & Qualifications**
- Strong AC/DC electrical troubleshooting skills
- High attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Professional communication with clients and team members
- Valid **BC driver’s license** and clean driving record
- Personal electrical tool kit
- Fluent spoken and written English

**Assets (Not Required)**:

- Marine electrical experience
- Knowledge of **ABYC** and **NMEA** standards
- Red Seal certification
- ETO certification
