What you'll do:
- Analyzes the adequacy of the company's claim reserves using both standard actuarial techniques and advanced reserving models incorporating machine learning methods.- Supports the Quarterly Reserve Committee and year-end valuation reporting.- Maintains monitoring reports for both internal and external stakeholders.- Provides insights into the company’s financial performance from a reserving perspective.- Builds strong relationships with company-wide partners and collaborates with business units to understand the reserve impact on their respective portfolios.- Develops enhancements to current processes to improve efficiency.
What you'll bring:
- FCAS/FCIA designation with 5+ years of P&C actuarial experience, or 10+ years of experience with expertise equivalent to an FCAS.- Reserving experience is considered an asset.- Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Effective team player with the ability to work independently.- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships.- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on both technical implementation and strategic perspective.- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and VBA.- Experience with SAS, SQL, and Python is an asset.
