**Job Description / Qualifications**

**Job Summary**

Responsible for working as a Co-op to gain hands-on experience as a Mechanical Technician by working closely with our manufacturing team and other departments.

**Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities**
- Sets up and operates CNC machinery and maintain production numbers for daily goals.
- Participates in producing product and performs quality checks.
- Participates in reading production work orders and submits all paperwork as required.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Participates and maintains 5S in the workplace.
- Participates and contribute to the continuous improvement process.
- Adheres to all workplace safety policies, compliances, and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned

**Nature and Scope**
- Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instruction. Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.
- Under close supervision, exercises limited latitude/independent judgment. Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior coworker and/or supervisor.
- None.

**Work Environment**
- Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors, such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking and/or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
- No travel required.

**Education and Experience**
- HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.

- 6+ months experience.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and use measuring devices such as Vernier and Micrometer caliper, and tape measure, etc.
- Senior year Mechanical Technician - CNC / Engineering Student Understanding of CNC Programming and G-codes
