Reporting to the Garde-Manger Banquet Chef, the Assistant Garde-Manger Chef will assist with supervising all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Garde Manger culinary department including scheduling time and attendance. The Assistant Garde-Manger Chef will assume the role and responsibilities of the Garde-Manger Banquet Chef during their absence.

**Role Description**:
The Assistant Garde-Manger Chef will assist with Garde Manger banquet event forecasting, scheduling and approving time and attendance with Synerion, inventory requisitions, design and creation of standardized recipes for events as well as foodservice production infusing modern culinary trends. In addition, the Assistant Garde-Manager Chef will be responsible for ensuring appropriate levels of staffing, inventory rotation of both prepared products and operational par-stock levels. The Assistant Garde-Manger Chef will ensure that the events are delivered as per published contracts and event plans while maintaining a clean and safe work environment in the Garde Manger department.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
**Education & Experience**
- Red seal certification in Culinary Arts through a recognized interprovincial agency or international equivalence
- Minimum 6+ years' experience in high volume culinary production (2000+ guests) with competencies in fine dining
- Previous culinary leadership experience from a supervisory and/or supportive role
- Professional affiliation from an industry-related association is considered an asset

**Job Specific/Technical Knowledge**
- Proven communication, organizational, time management, and advanced computer skills
- Demonstrated understanding of information data processing, synced among multi-level platform devices
- Must be a team player who defines success as high standards for exceptional delivery of service
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently and effectively under pressure
- All employees are expected to maintain a high standard of professionalism, personal hygiene, and grooming

**Physical Demands**
- Must be able to work flexible scheduled hours, including days, nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to reach, bend, twist on a regular basis
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull food/product, containers and food transport devices up to approximately 25kg
