Your Opportunity

We are seeking an Intermediate Water Resources Scientist or Hydrologist to join our Markham office, with consideration for other GTA locations. You will be part of the Water Resources Technical Team within Stantec’s Environmental Services Business Line.

Your Key Responsibilities

As an Intermediate Water Resource Specialist or Hydrologist, you will contribute to a variety of hydrologic, and hydraulic projects within a dynamic design team. You will report directly to a Project Manager or Team Lead.
- Assist with watershed characterization studies, flood plain mapping, environmental impact assessments, coastal and river engineering, and channel design projects
- Assist with hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality modeling
- Conduct field investigations including water quality sampling, hydrometric measurements, data management and analysis
- Assist with preparation of detailed design drawings
- Develop work plans and cost estimates
- Technical report preparation and writing
- Work efficiently in a team environment
- Perform tasks, as requested, efficiently and accurately, using standard methods and techniques

Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Proven ability to produce high-quality, organized, and consistent work
- Strong initiative and independent decision-making skills
- Excellent team-building and communication abilities
- Technical proficiency and practical problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with local markets and practices is an asset
- Valid G-class driver’s license required

Education and Experience

Graduate degree from an Engineering or Science program, with an emphasis on water resources and hydrology.

Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in consulting or regulatory environment, regularly using and analyzing water quality and quantity data.

Eligibility to register with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO).

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

**Pay Range**:

- Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$86,900.00 - $126,000.00 Annually

**Pay Transparency**: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
