**Overall Purpose of Job**:
Receives, records, and transmits emergency and non-emergency information, and completes administrative duties under the direction of the Fire Captain of an assigned fire and rescue team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Complete daily tasks and assignments under the direction of the fire captain of the assigned fire and rescue team.
- Monitor the emergency radio channel and phone line to receive and assist with emergencies.
- Receive non-emergency calls regarding wildlife sightings, hazard reporting, road closures, mask fit-test bookings, general inquiries etc., and provide assistance to callers or direct callers to the

appropriate personnel.
- Monitor the confined space radio channels, record information in the confined space entry log, and update the confined space entry tracking board.
- Maintain the daily dispatch log by recording necessary information.
- Maintain the fuel log by recording necessary information.
- Maintain the electronic patient log by entering patient information.
- Maintain the access and security of highly sensitive information.
- Function check and monitor the condition of dispatch communication equipment and report deficiencies to the appropriate personnel.
- Keep up to date with relevant site-specific guidelines and procedures.
- Become familiar with emergency meeting point and AED locations by utilizing site maps.
- Maintain and update contact lists, site maps, and the frontline response-unit board.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the dispatch office.
- Become familiar with dispatch centre evacuation procedures.
- Participate in emergency drills.
- Assist with the onboarding of new hires by providing dispatch training for new members.
- Complete required dispatch courses.
- Complete required International SOS continuing education modules.
- Attend required meetings including daily start-of-shift meetings.
- Maintain a respectful work environment by demonstrating positive work place behaviour.
- Comply with company policies regarding code of conduct, uniform, dress, and appearance.
- Perform other administrative duties as requested by the fire captain, nurse practitioner, and the site liaison manager.
- Ensure International SOS is represented in a positive and professional manner when interacting with the client and other contractors on site.
- Receive and record reports of all emergency events, and record all communications throughout the incident.
- Follow the site-specific fire, rescue, and medical dispatch guidelines and protocols throughout the incident.
- Assist callers with initial actions such as evacuation procedures, emergency medical instructions, emergency meeting point instructions, etc.
- Dispatch the appropriate personnel, apparatus, and resources in accordance with emergency response protocols or as instructed by the officer-in-charge.
- Contact and update essential personnel and agencies in accordance with emergency response protocols, or as instructed by the client or the officer-in-charge.
- When requested, assist responding personnel by providing directions to emergency meeting point locations.
- Communicate any reported or known emergency scene hazards to the officer-in-charge and responding personnel.
- When requested, assist the officer-in-charge by searching databases or reference materials to obtain required information related to the incident.
- Assist the officer-in-charge by requesting or communicating information on their behalf to various personnel, business units, or agencies.
- Perform all-calls to notify personnel of potential or imminent dangers, or termination of incident operations, when requested by the client or the officer-in-charge.
- Enter dispatch information into the emergency call report and submit to the officer-in-charge.
- Participate in the post-incident analysis or debrief.
- When required, participate in the incident investigation.
