The Outside Sales Representative manages a profitable sales territory across the GTA. The incumbent works primarily outside of the office, developing relationships, identifying new opportunities for IMS business, and supporting daily operations and growth of the business.

**Responsibilities**:

- Solicit new opportunities and transition them appropriately into the IMS sales and support processes
- Qualify new business prospects, and build an active, high potential prospect list
- Develop relationships with customers that positions IMS to be their first choice for purchasing materials
- Provide accurate information to customers and troubleshoot issues when required; including but not limited to assisting customers in sourcing products and solutions for their technical problems
- Act as a liaison for customers to ensure that they receive the right products that will provide the best solutions for their specific needs
- Maintain a high level of service to existing customers; this includes but is not limited to: responding promptly to requests for quotation, delivery and after sales support, and introducing new products (as appropriate)
- Keep accurate records and reports with respect to sales and prospects
- Meet sales quotas and objectives
- Develop relationships with vendors that will create favourable business conditions: (greater margin and accurate delivery dates, etc.)
- Work collaboratively with internal IMS teams to ensure that the customers needs are met
- Be committed to growth and embrace personal learning and development
- Support, educate, and champion team members, foster team success
- Adhere to all workplace and governmental policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Minimum five years experience in plumbing and heating sales
- Experience with and/or knowledge of products sold by wholesale plumbing, heating, and PVF distributors
- Proven record of soliciting new opportunities and relationships (in a sales context)
- Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven, fast paced environment
- History of being customer centric and obsessive about providing excellent customer service
- Continuous improvement focused, with a record of suggesting and implementing positive changes to processes and procedures
- Superior communication skills: verbal, written, and listening
- Attention to detail
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational and planning skills
- Thirst for continuous growth of knowledge related to products and best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to work outside regular office hours
- Equally comfortable in office, retail, and warehouse environments
