Responsibilities and Duties
- Support, promote and enforce occupational health and safety, wellness and all safety department initiatives.
- Ensure that all safety regulations, guidelines and procedures are implemented and adhered to on job sites.
- Prepare and conduct safety meetings.
- Daily inspections of various job sites to ensure all personnel are following all company procedures and health and safety legislation.
- Collection of all health and safety documentation, assisting and supporting the Safety Department in managing all safety documentation.
- Assist in investigating incidents thoroughly and effectively, and then respond appropriately as required, including communicating to, training and following up with supervisors and site personnel. This shall include verifying that Incident Reports are completed and submitted on a timely basis.
- Maintain company emergency equipment inventory (i.e. first aid kits, fire extinguishers, etc.)
- Perform other safety related duties as required.
- Requirements
- Occupational Health and Safety Certificate formerly known as Health & Safety Representative or currently known as Joint Health & Safety Committee Member, as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act/Regulations.
- Post-secondary school diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field of study preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations.
- Understanding of, accident investigation, workplace inspection and job hazard analysis is preferred.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate is an asset.
- Willing to actively participate in continuous professional development throughout the course of employment.
- Proven ability to maintain the confidentiality of information and records.
- Service and team-oriented and who pays specific attention to detail.
- Proven ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Tact, diplomacy, flexibility, listening and persuasion skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
