Job Summary

Reporting to the VP, IT Operations, with their extensive knowledge of contemporary user-centered design methodologies, the Manager, User Experience will be responsible for the design and development of engaging user experiences.

**Responsibilities**:

- Initiate, suggest, and spearhead major UI re-factorings for a more intuitive user-experience.
- Design elegant solutions to complex workflows. Design things that people will talk about.
- Act as “go to” with in-depth knowledge of user interface best practices and standards.
- Use research-related services, theories and methods to support recommendations.
- Take the initiative in providing input and feedback in both departmental discussions and on issues relating to other departments’ use and interaction with technology.
- Develop wireframes, behavioral specifications, and personas.
- Executing interaction design and visual design as a part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Lead the organization through UX changes.
- Research interaction design and technology trends to ensure optimal user and customer experience across our core platforms.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business or Information Technology (or equivalent) with 10 - 15 years of progressive experience in user-centered design methodologies and transformation.
- Strong conceptualization ability, strong visual communication ability, drawing skills and sketchbook technique.
- Exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in design techniques such as wireframing, task analysis, sketching, prototyping as well as strong working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks and other associated design tools.
- Working experience with leading UX tools such as Axure or Protoshare.
- Experience in various research techniques such as personas, qualitative research methods (usability testing, in-depth interviews), quantitative methods (A/B testing, statistics analysis) etc.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding of common software project management & software development practices.
- Demonstrated excellence in analytical thinking, problem solving, communication, delegation, planning, organization, and judgement.
