**Jane Norman College is looking for a Family Home Child Care Consultant.**

**Reporting to the Family Home Child Care Director, the Consultant role supports the Family Home Child**

**Care Providers, approved by the Jane Norman College Family Home Child Care Agency, through**

**pedagogical leadership, resource support, regulatory understanding, and regular, meaningful**

**communication and home visits. In addition to being an accomplished educator the role requires**

**excellent interpersonal, time management and organization skills. The role necessitates understanding**

**and adherence to best practices in Early Childhood Education and believing in and promoting the**

**College’s values. The position is located at Jane Norman College in Truro.**

**Hold an Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree**

**Have current classification Level 2/3 under NS DEECD**

**Have**3 year’s+ (preferable) experience in a regulated childcare** **setting**

**Have basic word processing, spreadsheet, and technological experience**

**Have above average communication skills (written and oral)**

**Possess a valid NS diver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle**

**Be a motivated, reliable, self-starter**

**Be able to demonstrate knowledge of emergent curriculum and current best practices in early**

**childhood education**

**Previous experience as a family home child care provider is an asset.**

**Wages will be commensurate with education and experience under the Nova Scotia Early Childhood**

**Educator Wage Scale. Total compensation will include paid sick time, medical benefits, pension and**

**paid vacation time.**

**Jane Norman College is a non profit, private College that believes in change through education. The**

Pay: $28.52-$33.26 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
