Reporting to the Administrator, the Director of Care (DOC) is responsible for the quality of resident care. The DOC is accountable for the efficient operations of the Nursing department, consistent with the Mission, Vision & Values (Competencies) of Bonnechere Manor.
- **Responsibilities**:_
- Ensures nursing services are provided in a manner that focuses on the satisfaction of the residents and fully supports their rights.
- Responsible for the preparation and control of the approved nursing department budget and all related expenditures.
- Ensures the effective and efficient utilization of human resources for the nursing department.
- Responsible for nursing staff education and development.
- Promotes and enhances effective communications through the nursing department and positive relationships with community and external organizations.
- **Qualifications**:_
- A General Registered Nurse with current certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario (BScN degree, MScN preferred).
- Current certification in Gerontology with the Canadian Nurses Association, an asset.
- Minimum of five years management experience.
- Proven leadership abilities, combined with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Computer literacy required (MS Office, Database).
- Immediate accessible transportation required.
- Ability to meet and maintain health requirement standards of Bonnechere Manor, as per Long-Term Care Legislation.
- Must successfully display competencies of personal sensitivity/ empathy, flexibility/adaptively, teamwork, accountability, coaching and feedback, and relationship building.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $65.23-$73.43 per hour
