Pre-university Auxiliary Instructor for Robotics Courses

We are seeking Auxiliary Instructors to support students for our Robotics related programs This role mainly involves covering instructor absences as needed. It’s an excellent opportunity for new instructors eager to gain experience, or for those seeking flexibility

Are you a Software Developer or Robotics Programmer with strong programming skills and a solid understanding of sensors and controllers? If you’re passionate about teaching learners aged 9-12 and 13-18, this is the perfect opportunity for you

**Courses that you could possibly teach are**:

- Lego Robotics
- Drone Engineering with Python
- Build your own computer with Raspberry Pi

**_Instructors must be able to work from 9am-3pm, from July-August at SAIT_**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions with teen learners following the course curriculum
- Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students as they ideate, develop, and iterate on their chatbot project.
- Showcase proficiency in Unreal Engine/Unity and Block-based coding tools
- Share real-world experiences, case studies, and insights to offer students a holistic understanding of the field.
- Grade assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress within the course.

**Role Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree or final year studies in Computer Science, or graduate of Circuit Stream Software Development Bootcamps
- Programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or C++
- Working with sensors, motors, and microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, LEGO SPIKE)
- Robotics platforms and tools (e.g., LEGO SPIKE Prime, VEX, or similar)
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Explaining technical concepts to youth in an engaging and age-appropriate way
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
- Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students.
- A passion for guiding and mentoring students, fostering their growth, and providing meaningful feedback.
- Willingness to adapt to evolving curriculum needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- A strong portfolio of relevant work to showcase your skills and experience.
