The Indigenous Community Liaison (ICL) position provides a high level of culturally appropriate support for Indigenous residents throughout the Cool Aid Housing and Shelters portfolio. It plays a key role in helping interested Indigenous residents maintain their housing, articulating and managing concerns and needs, and providing case management support. The ICL will work closely with Cool Aid clients, support teams as well as community partners, providing support and access to cultural activities and supports through a relational collaborative approach. The ICL will also work with the Director of Indigenous relations and Program Development to develop and implement a variety of cultural activities.

To succeed, you will have an excellent understanding of the issues faced by our Indigenous clients. This includes experience working with individuals who face multiple barriers, such as substance use, mental health concerns, low incomes, and the negative impacts of colonialism and racism. You must be able to provide teachings, knowledge of Indigenous and urban Indigenous culture, traditions, and history as a way of supporting resident’s connection to their culture and community. You should also have experience delivering healing circles and other culturally specific ceremonies.

**Qualifications**

**Education**
- Degree or diploma in a related human, social services, or Indigenous field.

**Experience**
- At least two (2) years of direct experience working in a program with Indigenous peoples/communities, including participant-centered case management and implementing case plans.

**Requirements**:

- Complete the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check.
- Class 5 Drivers license and clean driving abstract.

**Job Information**
- ** Hourly Wage Rate**:$30.18 - $33.49.
- ** Work Location**:749 Pandora Ave, and various Cool Aid sites.
- ** Work Days**:Monday to Friday.
- ** Shift Time**:8:30 am to 4:30pm.
- ** Weekly Hours**: 40.
- ** Union**:BCGEU.
- ** Benefits**: Eligible for 100% employer paid benefits. We offer **comprehensive extended health and dental plans**.
