**Qualifications**:

- Three years’ experience is an asset.
- Training and experience in repair trades such as electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, etc. would be an asset.
- Previous employment in a health care/hospitality setting an asset.
- Demonstrated understanding of/empathy for the needs of seniors.
- Must have good communication skills with residents and their families, and will follow a cooperative and helpful attitude with them.
- Demonstrated experience in managing a budget.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain the building and keep the grounds in good operating condition.
- General repairs to buildings, equipment and furnishings.
- General decorating of rooms and other areas including painting, wallpapering, and surface repairs.
- Maintain the effectiveness of building mechanical, electrical and fire detection and safety systems.
- Make minor adjustments to the building mechanical, electrical and fire systems as deemed necessary.
- Maintain a high level of safety and security for Residents, Staff, visitors, guests.
- Maintain preventive maintenance measures.
- Select, obtain and use maintenance supplies efficiently, effectively and safely.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of maintenance supplies for day-to-day use.
- Keep records on building utilities consumed, repairs and adjustments made/needed.
- Acquire and maintain files of operating manuals and other data pertaining to all furnishings and equipment.
- Helping in the preparation of an annual operating and capital budgets and working within these budgets for those functions under the jurisdiction of the department.
- Perform all other job duties as assigned
- Refer and adhere to all policies and procedures as they are in effect.

**Job Requirements**:

- Police Record Check (as per RHA), including VSC
- Immunization as per home’s policy, if applicable
- TB Testing

**Salary**:

- TBD based on experience

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Education**:

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
