We are looking for a Maintenance Worker who will be responsible for assisting the Maintenance Supervisor in the overall operation of the maintenance for the building. This is for a 160-bed Long Term Care Home. This is a position for someone who has good working knowledge of building systems and possesses the ability to use hand tools and has mechanical skills to solve problems. Must be fully vaccinated, including Covid and MMR; Vulnerable Sector Search, and TB testing required

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provides excellent customer service, reinforcing and leading by example; addresses customer complaints in a professional manner; referring those beyond scope to the General Manager of the site, the District Manager or contractors
- Ensures areas are safe, clean and well-organized to meet all resident and Company needs
- Consistently adheres to all company Policies and Procedures
- Performances daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual preventative maintenance checks
- Oversees all contractors that come into the building until the completion of their work
- Oversees the scheduled preventative maintenance contracts for the plumbing, mechanical and all other HVAC systems
- Ensures procedures for a safe and effective workplace outlined by Health and Safety Act
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensures that stock is organized and accessible to all staff
- Performs other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Completion of high school required
- Considered an asset if Completion of Secondary Environmental Service Diploma or Degree Certifications as Plumber, Electrician, Gas and Furnace or HVAC repair
- At least 1-2 years of previous Maintenance or Handy Man experience

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
