The Collections Analyst is responsible for strengthening the relationship with LATAM distributors and Canada customers, working for collections and AR/. This person will also be responsible to perform finance and accounting tasks, as monthly reconciliations, post journal entries, prepare sales taxes base, etc.

This position is part of the Finance Department and will be in Canada - Markham, reporting for the Finance and Accounting Manager Latam and Canada. At Cepheid, we help you and the society to realize life´s potential.

**In this role, you will have the opportunity to**:
Review and Approve Sales Orders at high value, competing an internal checklist;

Attend LAC region (Canada and Distributors in LATAM) performing the tasks below:

- _ Creating and maintaining credit history files_
- _ Analyzing and assessing the creditworthiness of account/client using external credit risk management tools/reports_
- _ Collection efforts/calls for accounts receivable portfolio_
- _ Documenting daily collections activity, keeping accurate records and reporting_
- _ Researching account disputes and billing discrepancies_
- _ Performing account/payment reconciliations_
- _ Responding to credit inquiries from external and internal clients_
- _ Identifying delinquent accounts requiring external collection efforts_
- _ Resolve billing and customer credit issues_
- _ Identifying bad debt or financial exposure_
- Coordinate changes and additions required on customer master data
- _ Prepare and post Journal Entries related to AR and Sales Tax_
- _ Extract Reports and Prepare a Sales Tax Compliance data base - analyze and communicate with external tax consultants_
- _ Control the ITCs - Importation Tax Credits for GST/HST (Canada and US), reporting them to external consultants capture in the monthly tax returns and reconciling it to the monthly accounting balance;_
- _ Opening and monitoring IT Tickets for SAP enhancements and improvements related to AR, Finance and Accounting;_
- _ Other finance/accounting activities_

**The essential requirements of the job include**:

- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Problem-solving skills
- Strong experience with SAP
- Previously Experience in Collections
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Comfortable working with targets
- Patience and ability to manage stress

**It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in**:

- Knowledge in collections tools
- Accounting Degree
