**What’s the job?**
We are looking for an experienced People and Culture Specialist to join our growing team that will be reporting directly to our CEO.
**Overview of Main Responsibilities**:
- Act as the first point of contact for employees throughout the employee lifecycle for our largest brand, including employees across Canada and Independent Contractors globally.
- Conducting pulse checks company wide to assess current people performance and operations programs in place to determine whether it is necessary to implement or improve current processes
- Proactively improving the workflow of the department to maximize efficiency and accuracy of existing systems and processes
- Provide support to learning and development programs, performance management, change management and staff recognition initiatives.
- Partner with the Managing Director to maintain compliance with company policies and practices.
- Assist with administering the onboarding and offboarding processes as staff begin their career with or exit the organization.
- Handle general and employment-related inquiries from applicants and staff, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Managing Director.
- Handle departmental administration, i.e., metrics, job descriptions/ postings, organizational chart, performance review support, exit interviews/offboarding, drafting employment letters, reporting etc.
- Responsible for record keeping and maintenance of staff files and other related documents, such as keeping our directory and company calendar up to date.
- Process and record People and Culture department expenses, including but not limited to, appreciation gifts, rewards, employee incentives, and seasonal swag.
- Other administrative and strategic tasks as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and interface effectively across the organization and externally.
- Comfortable with speaking in front of leaders, large groups, and in virtual environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated discretion and diplomacy at all levels.
- Good problem-solving, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to organize workload, manage several projects of equal priority at once, and sustain productivity and accuracy under pressure.
- Strong administrative skills; good research, planning, analytical and organizational skills; strong work ethic and follow-through; meticulous attention to detail.
- Good judgment, initiative, creativity and resourcefulness; deadline focused.
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suites
**Is it remote and what are the hours like?**
This position is mostly remote, with required occasional work days in our office located in Markham (approximately 1-2 times per month).
**What’s the pay?**
The compensation starts at $60,000-70,000/annum and is commensurate and negotiable based on experience.
